Loaves & Fishes

We provide a place and a supportive space for destitute people to plan and begin their journey of renewal. We offer a renewal program that includes identifying and addressing the root causes of problems, treating common issues like drug and alcohol addiction, coaching in life skills and job skills, doing therapeutic workshops and referring clients for specialist support where necessary.

Loaves and Fishes proposes a renewed mind-set, which influences a renewed lifestyle through empowered decision – made by offering individual counselling, life skills groups (Brightstar), devotions, and AA.

We also run a daily soup kitchen, where volunteers and people staying in the shelter serve people still living on the streets. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve and engage the homeless community, feeding hope into people's lives as shelter clients bare witness to how one's life can change when they get off the streets, and to how God has faithfully restored their brokenness.

The long term vision is to have our shelter's clothing shop open to people still living on the street. Using a voucher system, like that of Uturn, where one can engage in simple tasks to earn vouchers that can then be redeemed at the soup kitchen as well as for clothing items and toiletries.
