Lighthouse Tavern, Gansbaai

Lighthouse Tavern is a country pub and restaurant which is situated on the Birkenhead Estate 30 minutes out of Hermanus. The property is located in natural surroundings and is environment friendly with the Danger Point lighthouse close by.

The quaint pub blends itself to a cosy fireplace and has a big screen for the sporting events. We also have another dining room which accommodates 35 people.

We offer comfortable accommodation which overlooks the pool area and our rates include bed & breakfast.

In-house guests have full access to pool area which includes an outdoor pub, dance floor and braai facility.

Our facility is pet and children friendly and has a play area which includes swings and a slide.

All facilities are fully licensed.

The coast is within walking distance and a visit to the lighthouse will leave you in awe of the beauty of this wonderful coast.
For the adventurous, a shark diving trip can be arranged, however, booking is essential. A quick call will ensure that you have an experience of a lifetime. During whale season, the entertainment by these wonderful species will keep you coming back for more.

We have an al la carte menu and all our meals are freshly prepared. All meals are served in either the pub, dining room, outside and at the pool area.

Besides the al la carte, we have chef's specials for the day which include homemade chicken or venison pies, rib burger and fish cakes. These specials alternate regularly. On Sundays a 3 course meal is served at a special rate and to avoid disappointment, booking is essential.

Functions / conferences are held dining room. In addition, various events are held at the pool area, which include weddings, birthday celebrations, etc. Each event is personally and professionally co-ordinated.

During winter the pub transforms its looks with a wonderful fireplace and has a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a meal, drink of your choice or a good sherry on a cold day.
