Harterus is situated in the small countryside town of Riviersonderend. Only 140km east of Cape Town located on a loop of the Sonderend River. There are many small countryside towns close to Riviersonderend. Maybe you would like to go wine tasting in Ashton (58,7km) or cheese tasting in Bonnievale (43km). Swellendam (57km) has beautiful Berry farms and offer liqueur tasting. Caledon Casino and Spa is only 49,5km away for those who love trying their luck at the machines. Agulhas is also close by for a fantastic day at the southern tip of Africa.

Long trips are exhausting and therefore it is a good idea to stop and rest before you continue your journey. Riviersonderend is the halfway mark to many places and therefore if you are a rep working in the Overberg region, Harterus is the perfect overnight place for you.
