More about Women In Business South Africa

MISSION AND VISION

Women in Business is an association based in Uitenhage that aims to be a united, non-racial business organisation that assists local women in business and to encourage female business entrepreneurs of all ages and different back grounds in our local community.
Women in Business is a professional organisation committed to offering value in the form of meaningful development opportunities by providing leadership and training, connecting and supporting members in the local and South African business community by endorsing a multitude of resources for example local meetings, networking events, workshops and exchanging of ideas to create a good learning environment through all stages of business development and supplying the tools to succeed further in business.
The need for the Women in Business association was created for more than one reason.
When one is self-employed you do not have a boss to turn to. Your job description changes as the needs of the business change. There is no one to train you and no matter how smart you are or how many skills you have, you always need to learn something new. Women in Business has been there and done that, and have the testimonies of successful ladies that can vouch for that.
We can save you time and effort to assist your business to get off to a good start, or if you want to boost your sales, are looking for franchise opportunities or planning to expand into new markets, we can help you take your business to the next level.
In fact, if recent research is any indication, women owned businesses are one of the fastest growing types of the small businesses—a rare bright spot in today's sluggish economy. The number of women-owned businesses increased nearly 60% since 1997. It's also worth considering the thousands of women who are starting their own businesses, creating jobs and creating value for their communities and giving thanks for the great fortune of living in a country that cherishes freedom and celebrates progress.
We as professional businesswomen recognise that many promising ladies may never be afforded the opportunity to learn how to make informed career choices, manage their finances and be inspired by successful women. Through initiatives such as this business conference, we would like to contribute to the development of our local women.
We should also mention that to grow a local community the money has to go full circle. So when you need to buy something, you need to try and get it locally to push money back in to your local economy that the people in the community and the businesses that supplies jobs to the community can grow.
