When Varda Mushlin - the driving force behind the WCWP (West Coast Women's Parliament) - came to South Africa in 2002 she was deeply concerned by the phlight of the many homeless children in Cape Town. So concerned was she, that she decided to do something positive to make a difference in the lives of these unfortunate children on the West Coast in our community. Varda suggested to the ladies of WCWP to do a show as a fundraising event to raise money that would go towards projects that specifically deals with Abused Women and Street Children. Their first show was in 2007 and it has become an annual event. Today the WCWP not only supports needy children and abused women, they also support the disabled and elderly women at risk in townships. Anybody who would like to know more about WCWP and our projects and they support can contact us to find out how to get involved. We accept donations and participation of WCWP.
