Waterside Lodge Wilderness

What makes Waterside Lodge special is firstly the location, situated on the banks of Wilderness lagoon opposite the mouth and facing the Indian Ocean.As with most estuaries one can observe the ebb and flow of high and low tides respectively.
Which means for our guests the view contantly changes with the tides, one moment there will be a large sandbank with a few Seagulls and Cormarants gathered and a little later, at high tide the sand bank will have vanished under the waves.
Apart from beautiful surroundings the Lodge has a lot to offer our discerning guests. Our rooms are quite unique in that being a large property with lush planting - Each one of our four rooms has its own veranda and private area in the compound.This creates a tranquil serene setting for one to unwind and relax.
You will experience a night of comfort and serenity as you settle into any one of our stylishly decorated rooms, each one named after an indigenous bird that you will probably get to see in our garden.
In fact two of our rooms are separate self contained cottages namely the Sunbird suite and the other one being the Loerie Cabin. Guests have mentioned that they love feeling as if they have the place to themselves.
Each room is above all tastefully decorated, comfortable and is fully equipped to cater for every guests needs.

The Loerie Cabin - is a thatched roof log cabin with an en-suite bathroom with shower. It has a king size bed or twin beds, TV and a fridge, tea/coffee tray.
The Cabin has a private entrance and wooden deck which overlooks the beautiful garden, pool and a glimpse of the ocean beyond.

The Hadida Ibis Room - overlooks the pool, lush gardens with views of the Lagoon and ocean beyond. It too has a king size bed or twin beds TV, fridge, microwave and a huge en-suite bathroom with bath and separate shower. The room has a private entrance and lovely covered patio next to the pool.

The Weaver Room - is situated on the second floor of the main house with excellent views of the Lagoon and the Indian Ocean. It has a king size bed or twin beds,TV, fridge, tea/coffee tray and en-suite with bath and shower.The room has its own large private balcony. Ideal for watching the sunset and sipping a cocktail.

The Sunbird Suite - last but not least is the large freestanding thatched roof Cabin. The Suite is situated in the best position on the property, away from the main house for absolute privacy and taking in the best views of the beautiful Wilderness Lagoon and Ocean.
This room is our Honeymoon suite and is elegantly decorated and ideal for romance and relaxation in total privacy.
The suite also has a private entrance and lovely wrap-around deck from which to soak up the stunning views.
The suite features a king size bed or twin beds,reading chairs, TV, fridge, microwave and a luxurious en-suite bathroom with a beautiful freestanding bath for two and separate shower with twin his and hers basins.

The village of Wilderness is renowned for a superb selection of award winning restaurants.
To name just a view of our favourites - for those partial to fine dinning there is Serendipity which is a mere stroll down the road from the lodge. Then in the village itself (only a few minutes away) one is spoilt for choice. There is the ever popular Pomodoros Italian eatery. Great food with yummy Pizzas and good Coffee. Then there is the Girls restaurant always a favourite for Locals and visitors. Flava Café is ideal for good food at good value.
For Sheer dining pleasure there is Salinas which is situated virtually on the beach with spectacular sea views, an awesome place for Sundowners and superb fresh seafood.
Cocomos is the favourite place to chill with friends and the locals who flock there to enjoy a nibble, a drink or two and enjoy the fantastic vibe created by the best live music on the Gardenroute.
For those wanting something more exotic there is The Royal Siam Thai restaurant with a popular Sushi Bar.
Blue Olive and Locals are also lovely casual options for a good meal and maybe watch some sport and view the passing parade.
