Waste Management Services
Waste Aside is based on the concept of Total Waste Management Services whereby we work with our clients to identify
all waste arising at their facilities and provide advice and solutions to minimise their waste production.
Waste Aside specializes in the reduction, recycling, removal, reclamation, treatment and reporting of waste generated
in the domestic, industrial, commercial, municipal and mining sectors. Our operations are based on the core of
practices encouraged in the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) and embrace the principles prescribed
in ISO14001. We provide our clients with a safe, reliable, environmentally friendly and responsible solution to waste and
recycling management activities. Waste Aside fully complies with the spirit of the NEMA, and strives to continuously
improve the effectiveness of our environmental management methodology and technology.
Our onsite cleaning teams train and supervise the generators to separate and classify all waste into recoverable and
non-recoverable items and ensure minimum final disposal volumes. Then either by sorting at the client's premises or at
one of our Material Recovery Facilities (MURF's) we are able to recover value from the recycling, reducing the overall
costs for our clients and assisting them in a cleaner and greener lifestyle.
Waste Aside has expertise in the provision of waste management systems that incorporate the recovery and recycling of
suitable materials. The procedures, controls and reporting systems are
adapted to the client's specific needs across the business sectors which
include Industrial, Commercial, Residential, Specialist Facilities and Events.
The adopted system can vary from an on-site service where a full sorting of
recyclate is achieved, to the segregation and streaming of potential
recyclate with the removal of the “dry mixed” recyclate to a mechanized
Material Recovery Facility where sorting will be carried out.
Before materials are placed on a landfill we sort and separate different
waste streams to maximise recycling of various metal, paper and plastic
products. We own and operate regional Material Recycling Facilities in line
with Governments long term vision of zero waste to landfill.
Products & Services
Waste Aside generate recyclable waste which is sold as a substitute raw-material input source to South Africa's leading
manufacturers. With solid infrastructures and good relationships with suppliers, our business units are in a position to handle
large volumes of recyclable material, including paper, plastic, glass and metal.
Collection and Removal
Waste Aside has an extensive fleet of special application vehicles used for the collection, transportation and disposal of
all forms of liquid and solid waste.
The vehicle range includes mobile compaction units for the
collection of compactable waste of all types, as well as single
and double axle trucks for the collection of open-top containers,
static compaction units and liquid tankers.
Various configurations and sizes of containers from a 240Ltr
wheelie bin to a 30m3 Compactor bin are provided dependant
on the composition of the waste streams, volumes generated,
the potential for recycling, and site limitations.
Kerb-side collections are provided for domestic and commercial
customers and are contracted either directly or through your
local municipality. Due to our commitment to environmental
sustainability we separate this waste into organic and nonorganic
streams and maximise recycling where possible.
Bulk collections utilise a range of skip and roll-on/ roll-off (RoRo) containers for the various waste types, dependant
primarily on the whether the waste streams are compactable or non- compactable. The choice of container depends
on the specific client and / or site requirements. The skip sizes vary from 6m³ to 11m³ and are provided with a closing lid
or open to suit your requirements. The RoRo collections use either open or closed tanks for liquid wastes. The containers
vary in size from 10m³ to 30m³ and for liquids we supply both pressurised and non-pressurised tanks.
