Vaal Karate And Fitness Institute

Vaal Karate & Fitness Institute is a newly formed dojo in the Vaal Triangle, and is also the only SKISA affiliated dojo in the South Gauteng area.

The dojo is operating from the Klipriver Country Estate, a four star venue, situated at 2 McKay Estates, Donald Road Vereeniging. Having easy access and ample parking as well as restaurant facilities available for waiting parents. Klipriver Country Estate also has a guesthouse available and is ideal for catering tournaments and other events as the venue can accommodate up to 200 students.

Our chief instructor is Sensei Dave Wilson, who holds a 5th Dan in Tenshinkan. Sensei Dave was the Chairman of the Scottish Budo – Kai and the European Champion in 1983. He was also part of the JKA (Great Britain) Team that won a gold medal at the 1991 World championships in Johannesburg.


Our mission is to promote Shotokan Karate to any one who is interested and to teach our students the values & principles of karate and to promote karate for self defence.

We aim to create a motivational and uplifting environment where students can train and reach their full potential.

Being part of the SKISA body we have the opportunity to hold inter dojo tournaments which allow our students to benefit from more experience in competing events thus preparing them more for actual championships.

Under our affiliation with KSA, our students have the opportunity to qualify and obtain Protea colours and represent South Africa in International tournaments.
