The centre was based on our inherent knowledge that across South Africa there are two major factors that inhibit the growth of SME's: lack of resources and insufficient managerial talent. We also became more and more aware that other centres were not willing to go to the level of detail that a true grass roots entrpreneur needs in terms of education and assistance.
To address these issues head-on the TSiBA Entrepreneurship Ignition Centre has been set up to:
- Assess and carefully select entrepreneurs with the potential to start and successfully run a business.
- Train entrepreneurs to build these enterprises.
- Assis in planning their ventures and nurture them in the critical start-up phase or early-stage.
- Hone their managerial skills as the business is grown.
- Wean them to independence as they reach the critical mass necessary to succeed in the marketplace.
TSiBA Entrepreneurship support goes beyond the classic role of business incubator, and co-assumes operational responsibility in key aspects of the evolvement of the enterprise into maturity.
