"Top Spot" consists of 2 luxury, self-catering cottages on ClanHarry Farm at Curry's Post in the KZN Midlands. It is a lifestyle property which has the most awesome views of the Drakensberg, Midmar dam and the rolling Midlands landscape.
The cottages are luxury at good value, and you will love the mix of modern comforts and the natural beauty of this country getaway. Value for money describes us best.
Top Spot is on the popular Midlands Meander route and is 15 minutes from Howick. The town is famous for it’s waterfall and has good shopping facilities, restaurant’s and pub’s. Other Meander restaurant’s are within a few kilometres from Top Spot.
Ideal stop-over on-route to the coast, only 8km’s off the freeway or make us your base for the several wedding venues that are in close proximity. Also great stayover for the many sporting events that are hosted from the area.
We stay nearby, so we will be there to welcome you, or if you need any assistance while staying at Top Spot.
COTTAGE FACILITIES :
The 2 mirror-image sound proofed cottages can be booked as a single venue (walk through enclosed passage). Children under 10 are free and are accommodated on a single bed.
They are open plan but the bathroom is private . The shower is over the bath with modern glass partitioning) A small lounge and dining area is part of the unit. Each has a fully equipped modern kitchen, with granite tops, fridge/freezer, stove, microwave and good appliances.
A king size bed or 2 singles is optional. Full DSTV on a flat screen is provided.
A fireplace, underfloor heating, heaters or hot water bottles will keep you warm chilly nights. A fan is provided for the hot summer days.
Undercover parking with a veranda for outdoor leisure. A braai is provided with free firewood. Burglar Guards and Trellidoors provide the security in this low crime area.
No smoking in the units, an ashtray is provided on the verandah.
ACTIVITIES
The popular Midlands Meander is on your doorstep. It is a popular tourist route known for it’s treasures to be found in outlets set amidst the scenic beauty of the area.
Choose your destination from a route boasting arts and crafts, selective shopping, , amazing foodie and wedding venues, also leisure and activities, both for adults and children. Website=ww.midlandsmeander.co.za
The area is a sportsman’s paradise. It is home to the famous Midmar Mile swim, many mountain biking classics, marathons and du/ tri-athalon events. Also great for walking or hiking. Several golf courses in the area host the golfing enthusiasts.
Karkloof Canopy Tour is less than 30 minutes away. Howick and Karkloof Falls and the Umgeni Nature Reserve are also in the vicinity, as is the Karkloof Conservation centre. The Mandela monument and museum is well worth a visit.
At Top Spot you can relax in the natural scenic splendour. Share a bottle of wine in front of the fireplace or braai enjoying a splendid sunset. With parental supervision the kids can milk the cows, collect eggs from the chickens and canoe/tube/ zip-line on the small dam. Scenic walks on the farm and and a good mountain biking area.

Rates: R350 single / R300pp per night sharing / Children under 10 free / R100 extra person sharing. No seasonal rates but 1 night booking can be restricted during high season periods.
50% Deposit required to secure bookings. Internet Transfer or Cash, no credit card facilities
No breakfasts. Shopping, Restaurant’s and pub’s in Howick, 15 km’s. Meander eateries within 5 to 7km’s.
