The South African National Circus School

“… I was born in a township called Hanover Park in the early sixties. After high school I got the opportunity of a lifetime to join the circus for a worldwide tour becoming the world champion of flying trapeze representing S.A. in many countries. After this life changing experience I couldn’t wait to come back to South Africa to start a circus school to help the underprivileged youth to attain a career in circus arts. The city of Cape Town was kind enough to give us a venue in Observatory where we were partnered by the Sports and Recreation Department of Hartleyvale.. and so the South African National Circus was born.
Over the years we have established ourselves as a family of performers working hand in hand to give young people opportunities they wouldn’t otherwise have.
We’ve entertained thousands of people passing through the circus grounds over the years, exposing them to circus workshops, circus styled team building, circus lessons and professional circus shows.
The SAN Circus has produced world class artists through its training, as well as trainers and groups on the move doing workshops and shows all over South Africa from big towns to farms, documenting everything and everybody.
