The Royal Country Inn

The Royal Country Inn, built circa 1886, is situated in the heart of the battlefields. The Tudor-style Inn is steeped in memorabilia of the Zulu and Boer Wars, and has a charming historical ambience. Stay in beautifully and faithfully restored rooms off a garden courtyard, with wooden floors, pressed ceilings, en-suite bathrooms and DSTV. An ideal venue to explore the Anglo-Zulu and Anglo-Boer War battlefields, Drakensberg and Ithala Game Reserve. Guides are available, and can be arranged for guests. Packages for tour groups can be arranged. The Royal has excellent conference facilities and is ideally situated – halfway between Durban and Johannesburg.
