THE PROFESSOR MCM MODIBA SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The aim of the Scholarship Fund is to establish and generate funds to offer assistance to students completing their Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (“MBChB”) from the University of Limpopo (MEDUNSA campus). The Scholarship Fund is in honour and remembrance of Professor Mphako Charles Martin Modiba, one of South Africa’s first black liver transplant surgeons and an Alumni of the University of the Witwatersrand and the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, who embodied a vision and commitment to excellence.

THE PURPOSE OF THE FUND

Each year the scholarship funds will be made available to at least one viable recipient. The funds will mainly be utilized to pay for academic expenses for the final three (3) years of the student’s MBChB degree. Additional expenses such as accommodation will also be considered.
