More about The Joshua Trust

The Joshua Trust was established in 2012 to arrange, manage and host the Association of Military Christian Fellowships' (AMCF) Global Interaction 2014. The Global Interaction was successfully hosted over five days in Cape Town, South Africa in December 2014 with 528 participants from 86 countries.
In preparation of the Global Interaction the Joshua Trust, in partnership with its international partners, hosted three Warrior Training events to train military members, mostly under 30 year olds, from 5 (five) southern African and 3 (three) countries further afield as a Support Team for the Global Interaction; this training proved to be very effective in not only training a support team for the Global Interaction but also developing the leadership potential of young people who have subsequently had a positive impact in their work, social and civil environments.
The theme of the Global Interaction was based on the leadership qualities of the Biblical leader Joshua. The call from the main speaker, Bishop Henry Orombi from Uganda, was clear in that the Joshua Generation, the under forty year olds, were to be developed and nurtured to become the future leaders. This was perfectly aligned to the results achieved and the benefits seen from the three Warrior Training events that were hosted by the Joshua Trust in preparation of the Global Interaction.
The Joshua Trust now sees its calling in developing leadership potential in the Joshua Generation; training, enabling and developing young uniformed members to become self-disciplined transformational servant leaders. The Joshua Trust will be fulfilling this calling by providing Bible-based leadership training and development to young, Joshua Generation, members of the security cluster (Defence, Police and Correctional services) primarily from southern Africa. Where there is capacity; these opportunities are also open to young people not from the security cluster.
The Joshua Trust brand leader, Warrior Training, is evidence of the training programs’ inherent ability to unleash participants' potential by instilling value based decision making, moral values and work ethic; being good servant followers before becoming great servant leaders. Many of the past participants have become employees of choice by the leadership of their Organisations after participating in one or more Warrior Training events. For 2015 The Joshua Trust has added one more leadership development opportunity to its portfolio namely Advanced Leadership Training, the first of which was hosted with great success early in July 2015. The Advanced Leadership Training will assist participants to better understand self and others' thinking preferences; aiding them to become whole brain thinkers and leaders.

The Training and development programs now offered by The Joshua Trust, namely Warrior Training and Advanced Leaders' Training are founded on proven leadership theory and principles. The training and development provides the young leaders with a sound understanding of transformational leadership theory; the gap between theory and practice is bridged through experiential exercises. Training is structured to ensure that each participant from past courses are further developed to be mentors, trainers and leaders on future courses aiding the experiential learning of new participants as well as their own further development. This systematically takes them on a journey of developing into confident competent leaders.
