The Herd Investments

The Herd is Africa’s wealth asset class. We have created a platform for African and Global investors to invest into the traditional African wealth denominator – cattle. Throughout history Africa has denoted wealth by the ownership of livestock. This is still evident today when one negotiates a traditional payment or purchase. Cattle was the original currency, before there was a gold standard or a unit trust – there were cattle.

The wealth preservation properties of cattle have long been established and are unquestionable. Therefore we have recreated this as a modern investment option. Investors should be able to invest in an asset class that they understand and have a love for. An asset class that they can physically interact with. One that could feed your family if all else failed.

The Herd is this investment. By harnessing the buying power of the individual African investor we are looking to tap into a capital source of well over R50 Billion. By creating an asset class that allows an investor to own cattle and trade in cattle without requiring them to own a vast expanse of land or take the risk of owning any particular animal.

The power of cattle is not held in the individual animal, it is held in the collective herd. The power of the herd to procreate and generate wealth within it. Owning one animal does not depict wealth, owning many animals does. The value of the herd is greater than the sum of its parts.
