Madre and her family had the dream of a coffee shop for 15 years and only through the inspiration and motivation of Madre’s late mum and a good friend, Marlyn , did it open its doors on 5 February 2013. They chose bright colours, funky trinkets and souvenirs with hand-made furniture by Madre's dad for the décor. Glen and Heinrich remodelled part of the house to become a comfy and atmospheric little haven in Ugie.

You walk in the door and delicious aromas of fresh coffee, baking bread and Suzanne’s daily specialities hit your senses. The locals love it because it’s a unique place that offers excellent coffee, meals and friendly hospitality.

The Cock and the Cat is open Tuesday to Sunday for breakfast and lunch. Take-aways are available on order and the venue can be reserved for functions.
