McGregor, a village in the heart of rural South Africa, is the home of many unemployed youngsters yearning for a better life. The Breede Centre, through it’s socially orientated skills training programme, will help them to achieve this.
The Breede Centre aims to cultivate self-reliant, empowered individuals, capable of using their practical skills and personal initiative to act in the world with confidence.
It will do this through:
* Hands-on vocational and social skills training of unemployed young people from McGregor and surrounding areas with the aim of enhancing their chances to become employed or self-employed.
* Guiding students in a process of inner growth to enhance their awareness in relation to themselves, materials, the social and natural environment.
* Following up the further development of the graduates with a programme of mentorship and business support.
* Setting up social enterprises as places of practical learning of business concepts, administration and accounting skills, production, staff and aesthetic space management.
* All the above is developed, implemented and promoted based on the holistic principle of engaging head, heart and hands.
