More about The African Fellowship Book Club

The African Fellowship Book Club (AFBC) is a club inspired by thoughts of lost and neglected fellow Africans. The idea behind this initiative is provoked by generational loss of quality of living and the loss of identity in living. It is of high importance to notice the utilization of “Human as a natural resource” capabilities and to apply oneself within these high volumes of competitiveness of Ideologies. Over a period of time we have realized that the quality of life in Letsopa and the surrounding areas have despicably depreciated. We are aware now that it’s because values of life have been neglected and the results are these poor quality of living we are currently experiencing.

It is as though there is so much of a connection function that lost its serviceability over a period of time. It is heart breaking as well to realize how lost our society is and how far apart it is daily growing. The main reason behind our function as a club is to ensure that every living man in Letsopa becomes fairly aware of their “Unique Contribution” in the struggle towards better living of our people.

Most of Youth in Letsopa have lost hope due to lack of knowledge and lack of information. We have become the subjects of the system and indirectly contribute towards black genocide. What calculates mass power in the contribution of these social ills is nothing but ignorance of the entire elder grouping of the township. We can all see but we cannot all decide to turn a blind eye that something needs to be done.

With the old idea of “each one teaches one”, we understand the moral obligation of giving back anything of value we learn through daily life interactions. We know that knowledge is power and that’s the only thing our society has never tried since the struggle of black people. We intend to provoke highest intellectual order here in “Makweteng a Mmamoratwa”. We wish to revive every unexercised brain power to strengthen the thinking ability and independence of Letsopa. To train the young minds that they should love themselves as they are and regain their self confidence and inter-belief.

As a Book Club, we are prepared to be shamed and mocked by those whose eyes are still closed, to be locked outside doors that possess power to see through our ideological stern, BUT we know that at the end, there’s that one individual that will see their eyes open and that will mean one step closer towards independent thinking.
