Thatcher's Barn Theatre

Thatcher’s Barn Theatre is the brain child and dream of June Smith of Thatcher’s Country Guest House and Thatcher’s Rest Self-catering Cottage.
The Barn Theatre was originally a thatch storage shed for the thatching business.
It has always been June’s vision to have a Barn Dance Shed, so for husband John’s 60th birthday party, plans started to transform the ‘thatch’ shed into a Western Town Dance Shed.
With artistic flair and talent of their young neighbor, Nadia Cronje – Thatcher’s Barn Dance Hall was created.
The party was a huge success, with all the guests in awe of the beautiful artwork which had been created. Everyone agreed there and then that the shed should never revert back to being just a storage area.
June, who had for many years wanted to get involved in some sort of community and charity work, realised that she now had the perfect way in which to do so, and have a lot of fun doing it.
Thatcher’s Barn Dance Hall was used over the next few months to hold ‘Barn Dances’ for the local farming community and also attracted folk from surrounding areas.
