Thatched Cottage - Wild Coast

Accommodation is offered in three rondavels, each with 4 beds – either double or two singles and a bunk bed. There is a further room which can sleep two (single beds). All bedrooms are separate from the main building.
The main building has a large lounge and dining room, plus a fully fitted kitchen and bathroom, with both bath and a shower. There is a further shower in an adjacent outbuilding, along with a flush toilet. There is also “The Loo with a View” – I will leave that to your imagination!
There is a lovely thatched gazebo at the bottom of the garden next to the outdoor braai, which is perfect for relaxing evenings in the best South African tradition.
You will need to bring all consumables, including toilet paper, charcoal, etc. If you do run out of supplies, the nearest village – Willowvale - is 40km up the road and can provide for most needs. Please ensure that you have a well-stocked medical kit, as there is very little available in the area. All bed linen and bath towels are provided, but you will need to bring your own beach towels.
There is a domestic worker who will come in daily to do dishes and basic tidying and cleaning; laundry is only by arrangement.
ACTIVITIES
• Rock and surf fishing, as well as fishing in the estuary – please remember to buy your licences
• Swimming in the sea and the river – a walk of a couple of minutes from the cottage
• If you like to paddle, you can launch your canoe, surf ski or kayak from the beach in front of the cottage and head up the river, or out to sea (only for the experienced among you). Please remember life jackets!
• Walks along the coastline in both directions
• Cycling – there is unlimited space in all directions
The Thatched Cottage is ideal for family groups, who enjoy the outdoors and long for an escape from the hustle and bustle which is a feature of our busy urban lives.
