Dr Jana Pretorius is a specialist wildlife veterinarian with over 15 years of experience in the industry. This work includes mass capture and translocation of antelope species across Southern Africa. Individual capture of all wildlife species across South Africa including lion, tiger, cheetah, wild dog, rhino, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, roan, sable, klipspringer and all other antelope species, even airlifting species in difficult terrain. Herd health and reproductive management of extensive, semi-intensive and intensively bred wildlife populations, especially endangered and vulnerable species such as sable, roan, bontebok, white and black rhino, cheetah, lion and wild dog, as well as disease-free buffalo. Treatment and rescue of injured, sick or diseased animals. I’ve been involved in relocating hippo from South Africa to Namibia as well as relocating black and white rhino across Africa to countries such as Botswana, Namibia and Zambia and back to South Africa.
