More about Tangy Tash Locs & Knots - Dreadlock Specialist

This is a brief overview of our services offered to dready babies near and far.

New Natural Dreads

We create dreads using your own hair to be whatever size, shape, style and layout you want. We use the backcomb and crochet method, this leaves a neater dread to start with. It also means that we do not use chemicals and waxes to keep the dread in place, allowing for a mess free permanent dread that has less breakage and shrinkage. The backcombing creates a puffy type dread and the crochet hook pulls in the loose hair while tightening. We recommend that your hair be at least 5-10cm before starting your new dready babies.

Dreadlock Extensions

We can also attach extensions to existing or new dreads using a specialized method, to ensure that they look as natural as possible. It is a great alternative to those who want to enhance their natural dreadlocks by adding length, volume or Colour.

Dreadlock Repairs

Sometimes due to incorrect starting or bad maintenance dreadlocks do break. If you have been victim to such things we can help. An appointment is essential to assess your loc’s and plan the best way forward to fixing and maintaining them.

Synthetic Dreads / Dread Falls

Synthetic dreads and dread falls, are for those who would like to try a new style before the commitment of natural dreads or for those who want to enhance their current dreadlocks with extra volume, length or colour. There are many option available and it is best to make an appointment to view our selection.

Dreadlock Maintenance
Hair grows and naturally there will be regrowth at the root of the hair. If this is left for too long the hair at the roots may become unmanageable and tangled, allowing for dreads to start matting together. We therefore recommend that regrowth be neatened by crocheting from the root to where the original dread was started. This is essential in ensuring that dreadlocks going forward from this point are uniform and well formed.
