Our guesthouse is set in a beautiful garden, amongst large established trees, on a wide expanse of lawn. Guests will be welcomed by hosts Margie and Chris and they will find clean, spacious rooms with comfortable beds.
There is a fireplace in the lounge to warm you on those chilly winter nights (or fresh Karoo mornings) – you can curl up and relax in one of the comfortable sofas with a book or enjoy a chat over a glass of sherry!
Come stay with us at Swiss Villa, whether it be for the peace, rest or just passing through the area on a business trip. Or perhaps you want a special holiday - experience the unique fauna and flora of Nieuwoudtville. Within a 20-kilometer stretch - from the top of Van Rhyn's pass, out past the Wild Flower Reserve - there are THREE biomes - three vegetation types (Cape Fynbos, Succulent Karoo and the Dolerite Sills). Nieuwoudtville is also the 'Bulb' Capital of the World! Consequently, one spin-off is our porcupines are the largest, in both in size and population numbers, bulbs being their favourite food source.
For Birders, we have many birds to 'twitch' and add to your list; such as Ludwig's Bustards and Namaqua Grouse to mention a few, also Spring and Autumn migrations. On the Geological side we have a glacial pavement that is three million years old. The furthest northern point of the Table Mountain Sandstone complex is outside town and Oorlogskloof is the North-Western end of the Cedarberg Corridor. SO - there are MANY seasons and MANY reasons to come and be our guest - Nieuwoudtville's rich diversity ensures that whatever season you come to visit - there will always be something to be explored! With our clean air, peace and tranquility you can go back home RESTORED, RESTED and REJUVENATED.
