SwimQuest

Robyn Cousins School of Swimming was established as a sole proprietor by Robyn Cousins (born Gunning) in Farrarmere, Benoni, in 1993. Robyn is proudly South African and has a long association with the sport of swimming. She grew up in Greenside, Johannesburg, and was a Transvaal Provincial Swimmer in her youth.

Robyn served as the Secretary and later the Chairperson of the Eastern Gauteng Swimming Teachers’ & Coaches’ Association and then on the Swimming South Africa Technical Committee for Eastern Gauteng for a number of years. She was named the “Award winning instructor for 2001 – 2002” by Nell White for her contribution to Aquatots. She has received the Teacher of the Year Award on two occasions from Eastern Gauteng Swimming Teachers’ & Coaches’ Association, once from the Professional Swimming Teachers’ Association in 2002 and once from Eastern Gauteng Aquatics in 2015.

SwimQuest (Pty) Limited was registered by Robyn in 2013 with a view to expanding and giving the business perpetual life. Robyn is still actively involved in teaching children and in the ongoing training of her instructors.

SwimQuest’s instructors are professional ladies, who have the recognised qualifications through the national swimming body, Swimming South Africa (SSA), and have been given extensive training. We are committed to updating and upgrading our qualifications and knowledge on an ongoing basis by attending clinics, workshops and conferences and in so doing we comply with SSA’s requirements to keep our CPD (Continuous professional Development) points up to date. Instructors are also required to obtain Police Clearance and recognised CPR Certificates on an annual basis and to have an up to date Level 1 First Aid Certificate.
