Enjoy dolphin & whale watching from May to August from the Coffee Bay cliffs.
Coffee Bay nestles in the heart of the Transkei coast line and has one of the finest climates on the South African Coasts. During the winter months from May to August the bigger ground swells occasionally roll in making Mdumbi & Coffee Bay (bay & point breaks) the perfect surf spots with minimal crowds.

Coffee Bay is only 90km from Nelson Mandela’s homestead & surrounded by picturesque hilly countryside inhabited by the local Xhosa people. The name comes from a merchant ship that was wrecked in the vicinity with coffee beans from the East many years ago..

The Wild Coast is also noted for its fishing & Coffee Bay is in the heart of this area so you can catch your own & eat it. It doesn’t get any fresher than that! Your chef, Joyce, will prepare the catch for your evening meal.

J-Bay – do I really need to explain one of the best right hand point breaks in the world!
‘Supertubes’ can get a little busy on the good days but I prefer surfing ‘Point’ just a few hundred meters down which is just as good & easier to ride especially for beginners. Typically the winter months are ideal for the best surf on this coast line.

I have had some of the best waves & holidays at ‘Seals’or Cape St Francis just a 30min drive South of J-Bay. ‘Seals’ is a way more chilled set-up with a very easy jump into the line-up (longboarders paradise).

Loads to do on the flat days (no swell) from Bungee Jumping to a Big 5 Game drive or just long beach walks – its your holiday..
