Summer House SA

Summer House SA was born from two friends with a passion for travel, adventure and of course, shopping!

Adi and Shirli, after a friendship of 20 years in South Africa, had to part ways as Shirli had fallen in love, was getting married and immigrating to New Zealand. Shirl embarked on a new venture, having travelled to India with Adi in 2011, had fallen in love with the place and wanted to incorporate this wonderful country into her life.

And so the idea of Summer House was born.

Wanting a partner in crime to join her in her search for wonderful clothing, accessories and decor items to sell online, it was a no brainer to get Adi in on the act, to travel around North India in 2015, in search of the finest quality, hand made, fairly made and traded goods that were on offer.

Whilst on their trip, every experience and new find was facebooked and blogged about, sparking interest from many South African friends, acquaintances and new followers, resulting in the decision to bring the beauty to their hometown, and thus Summer House SA began.

"We have met so many wonderful people on our travels and have become personal friends with most of our manufacturers, resulting in supplying you, our customers, with special things for happy people and places.

Adi travels to India at least once a year to keep up with trends and latest ideas, and of course to have a glass of wine and a catch up with Shirli who joins her on the mission to stock their stores with beautiful items for you. Together they plan great things for the future, always keeping their customer in mind, they insist on the finest quality goods that are fairly made and traded.

"We are hoping to explore many more countries in the future and of course, being very proudly South African, have, and are currently sourcing local handmade goods for you.

Summer House SA is based in Hillcrest, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
We currently only have our online store but you can also find us at various markets around KZN.
