St.Bay Football Club

Saint Bay Football is a South African community club which provides a range of free, community football programs and services across the community of Mophela and Sankontshe in KwaZulu-Natal.


Our core work at St Bay FC is with young adults and Children who may be affected by homelessness, poverty, isolation, addiction, mental health issues, etc. We use football as a tool to engage in building the self-esteem, confidence and personal development with up to 200 participants attending sessions each week.


Mission statement
It’s our mission to help ALL players develop a life-long passion for the game and better prepare them as they move into adulthood in an ever-changing, diverse and global society. We want to provide enhanced opportunities for all players regardless of age or ability, and equip the young people with life skills so we can bring hope to their lives and communities.

What we do
We train 6 different divisions (U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 and U21), five days a week and have a program for unemployed youth in the mornings. The players attend an average of two tournaments per month. The coaches are actively involved in the players’ lives through mentorship, teaching life skills, and providing educational assistance and support for their families. We recently managed to get a sponsor, giving us the opportunity to acquire the SAFA Umgungundlovu regional league status. As this is the team’s first season in the regional league we are determined and serious about winning and gaining promotion to the Abc Motsepe League but most of all is ensuring that the talent of our boys is nurtured well.

St. Bay FC is cooperating with many different organizations. St Bay Coaches help in four different Schools (Gabi Gabi High School, Mophela Primary, Sankontshe primary and Silverton primary). We are also very thankful for the partnership with Lily of the Valley Children’s Village and His Little Lambs.
