Spekboom River Lodge

Spekboom River Lodge is situated on the banks of the Spekboom River, approximately 30km from Lydenburg. The Farm consists of 2,000hectares of unspoilt African bush surrounded by spectacular mountains and cliffs. This is the place to come and enjoy our bright stars, beautiful sunsets, hot summers, mild winters, fresh air and crystal clear water.
The Lodge is also ideally located for someone exploring the area with a 4x4. We are within easy reach of most of Mpumalanga tourist attractions.
The lodge offers affordable self-catering accommodation for up 20 guests in homely stone cottages with beautiful panoramic views of the dam, as well as an old farm house for bigger families or groups. In addition, next to the dam are a communal lapa, swimming pool and a small venue for birthday parties or family reunions.

The farm offers an abundance of wildlife such as wildebeest, zebra, waterbuck, nyala, impala, eland, kudu, Grey duiker, Mountain reedbuck, klipspringer, warthog, bush pig, hippo, and leopard. The ecology of the area is typical to the Lowveld, and numerous indigenous trees can be found. This is a real paradise for the avid bird-watcher, photographers and hikers.
The farm is a spectacular piece of earth to come and challenge your 4x4 on our rustic roads.
We do recommend that visitors drive a 4x4 as the road is situated down the roaring mountains next to the fresh flowing spekboom river.
