More about South African Reptile Rescue Unit

The South African Reptile Rescue Unit evolved in 2016 after it became apparent for the need for a safe haven for neglected, unwanted, stray reptiles and killing of endangered reptile species in the South Africa.
The South African Reptile Rescue Unit will also work hand in hand with the Department of Environmental affairs, they will protect all South African endangered reptile species and take action against anyone who does harm to South African or Exotic Reptiles.
South African Reptile Rescue Units aims to successfully rescue, rehabilitate and release. The team works closely with local veterinarians to ensure each animal receives the best possible care.
The South African Reptile Rescue Unit provides a free service to the community to rescue sick and injured wildlife and get them to the best possible veterinary treatment.
The team is highly skilled and trained to rescue everything from road accident victims to reptiles at your house (including everything in between) and they do it all seven days a week! The best part of the job is getting that call from the local vet that the animal has recovered in their care and ready to be released back to the wild - that's why we love what we do!
Any contributions to the SARRU team will provide essential rescue equipment to ensure that we can provide the best service possible to the animals.

The Rescue Unit SA will work according to the following Acts:

Animal Protection Act No. 71 of 1962
Preforming Animals Protection Act No. 24 of 1935
Limpopo Environmental Management Act No. 7 of 2003
