Our brewery exists to create innovative beer and contribute to making South African beer culture world-class. Established with founder Nick's migration to the Mother City from the soul city of New Orleans, we believe real beer should be made with soul. Our brewing embodies our passion for hoppy ales, old world fermentations and local ingredients. Our beer is characterized by an uncompromising commitment to quality, and is a reflection of time, place and the personality of the people who brew it. Soul Barrel Brewing is located in the heart of the Cape Winelands outside of Cape Town, near Franschhoek, built within the old concrete tanks of the former Drakenstein Winery.
