We at SOSMM believe that marriage is a lifelong covenant relationship between two people, where love is spelt C O M M I T M E N T FOR LIFE. Marriage covenant means to accept unconditionally, to forgive constantly, and love sacrificially. Real married love is not a feeling in the first place, but it’s a giving up of one self, a dying to self, a giving everything without expecting to receive back, for the purpose of making your partner happy. Imagine to be loved like that! If you really love someone you will jump at every and any opportunity to serve, to give, to bring joy and happiness. It’s a life of constantly ministering to each other’s needs and desires. Real intimacy mainly is two things: To be fully known and fully accepted, which works both ways, that’s why we aim to help couples to get to know each other on the deepest possible level. On top of that, married love means to take the risk of losing everything for the one you love. There is no stronger message of love than that. Real love is a deep desire to get to know someone better. Full grown love is to desire to make happy, childish love to always want to be made happy.

We at Song Of Songs Marriage Ministries take it one step further: in our marriage preparedness program we aim to empower couples wanting to get married to become, or to be emotionally, psychologically, spiritually sound individuals. Because we believe one can only give and love unconditionally when one is emotionally and spiritually whole, we have designed and developed our program especially for that purpose. Additionally, we believe this is also applicable to marriages that are in trouble. We also aim to rescue drowning marriages. Many marriages today are in trouble because of couples entering into that marriage unaware of the potential destructive nature of unresolved childhood and personality issues from the past, whatever those should be. Not even to mention the false expectations, hopes and dreams, differences in values, background and beliefs about what marriage is all about in couples’ minds. But there is HOPE!! We at Song Of Songs Marriage Ministries are not only throwing those a life raft on our rescue mission, we are winding them in to safety and help them get back on track on solid ground with their marriage, to rebuild the ruins of the past into strong, healthy, happy and growing marriages.

With more than 30 years’ experience in marriage ordaining, counselling, coaching and enriching, Reverend Dolf Germishuys has led the way in helping couples explore and strengthen their relationships in preparation for the marriage journey that lies ahead. Based on his research and extensive international experience in the field of marriage counselling and involvement in marriage ministry he establish a Biblical framework for marriage preparation and counselling. On a timely based, he conducts marriage enrichment weekend seminars, where many couples are helped to grow and establish strong marriage relationships. Apart from preaching on a part time basis, he now devotes his life and ministry on a fulltime basis to marriage ministry.
