skate-aid Salesian Skatepark Cape Town

skate-aid brings kids with different backgrounds together into one community!

The Skatepark at Salesian Institute is open for everyone. Kids and local skaters come here to meet and skate. If someone doesn't have a board we are able to borrow him/her one, because of the huge support of 'skate-aid'.

The park exists because of the initiative of the Salesians, skate-aid,sponsors and the volunteers. The co-operation between the Salesians and skate-aid proved to be successful the last 6 years. But we always need some new material and ramps for the kids and the local skaters.

We already have 10 boards that we can borrow to the kids. They range from street kids, disadvantaged kids at risk. They visit us in the CBD from as far as Mitchells Plein on a daily basis.

If you are interested in what we are doing or if you have an idea on how to help, just come around to the Salesian Institute and it would be a pleasure for us to explain our project to you. Or just contact us on facebook/email.

We need your help to get these kids away from the street and to give them another option to spend their free time.

Our needs:
- Guys who love skateboarding please just come around skate and enjoy your day, may show the kids some tricks or just show them how social life in a community with the same interests could work
- If you have: old or unused boards, protectors, ball-bearings, Wheels, tools or anything else that we could need for our project please
