More about Short Course College

The Short Course College Team are just as passionate about their Student's Future as they are.

We plan to start a Short Course College that provides enhanced easy accessible education to Working Adults, Scholars Struggling to pass their basic fundamentals the South African Learning System and Small to Medium Sized Companies. Each Short Course is tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual person or company. The Short Course College will provide assessment and planning services to help clients and students to improve efficiency and institute processes for innovation and change, resulting in well informed employees for businesses, and higher levels of knowledge and skills for individuals and Scholars.
We have strategically joined forces with Various other Companies which will enhance service deliverable to my clients and students, Such as Esperanza Coaching & Training, who enhance my Business by Face to Face Training in Basic Adult Skills training in environments such as Business Skills (Call Centre, Communication, Organizational Skills etc.) By contract we will make use of Esperanza’s specialized Facilitator, Moderator and Assessor Services to give relevant training within Companies as set out above.
We have also joined forces with The Tswelelopele Group, who is partnered with Log Online, who is Accredited Facilitators Moderators and Assessors and Registered with QCTO (Quality Council for Trades and Occupations). The Aim is to eventually also register with them in the nearby future.
Furthermore we are in the process to register SCC eLearning College with ABET, to endorse proper skills courses for Adult Basic Education & Training.
“E-learning is an approach to teaching and learning, representing all or part of the educational model applied, that is based on the use of electronic media and devices as tools for improving access to training, communication and interaction and that facilitates the adoption of new ways of understanding and developing learning.”
“Technology allows teachers to take part in purposeful conversations – anytime, anywhere. Online forums overseen by facilitators can guide and link discussions so that teachers can share ideas, ask questions and seek advice from more experienced colleagues.”
An example of a strategy that emphasizes technology is one that sheds light on difficult subjects with well-designed technologies that can promote learning in many subjects. Using innovative software might be an example of such an approach.
A strategy that promotes educational paradigms is one that involves blending ‘new’ and ‘old’ ways of learning.
“Technology is extending the time people can spend studying by enabling them to work away from their school, college or university, both on their own and collaboratively.”
Another top strategy for promoting useful applications of technology for learning is one that stresses the need for assessment for learning.

The report, the National and provincial labour market, Youth Q1:2008-Q1:2015 found that at national level, the vast majority of employed youth have either semi-skilled (53.1% in 2015) or low-skilled occupations (29.2%). It is in this market where the Short Course College wants to tap in and train, coach and enhance current workers skills knowledge to enable them to excel into higher positions, as only a relatively low proportion of workers had skilled positions (17.7%).
Elementary jobs dominate the occupational profile of both youth and adults, accounting in 2015 for one in every four jobs among youth (25.4%) and one in every five (21.8%) among adults.
Sales occupations rank second among both youth and adults, but this occupation accounts for a larger share of employment among youth (19.1% in 2015) compared to adults (13.6%). Sales in each company are of utmost importance, as it brings regular cash-flow into the business, but also into our country. It is also very beneficial to workers as most sales position goes hand-in-hand with commission, which results in higher salaries which can be generated, should the workers have negotiation skills to land bigger better sales. Short Course College will specialize in this market with various short skills courses to enhance current sales knowledge.
“Over the period 2008 – 2015, among youth, the largest decline in occupational shares occurred among craft workers while for adults it occurred among technicians”, StatsSA said.

South Africa’s unemployment rate in the first quarter of 2015 was at its highest level since 2003, Statistics SA reported in May.
The results of the first quarter showed that the working age population was 35.8 million, which included 15.5 million employed, 5.5 million unemployed and 14.8 million not economically active.
Education became so expensive, that the normal Child Born from a One Parent Family will not be able to afford to send them for a proper Education. Basic Skills are lost, and Domestic Work becomes the next best option. South Africa is losing skilled workers because our systems are too expensive to formally train our people. Bursaries are limited, and only the best of the best receive them (judged on school performance, background and work or skills experience each individual have.)

The Short Course College will assist individuals to be more successful by upgrading their skills with affordable Micro-Skills Course which can be done in 1 to 7 days, which can bring immediate relieve by adding Value to their Curriculum Vitae’s. Helping individuals to be stronger candidates in Interviews and preparing them for better job opportunities. These Micro-Courses will be priced anything between R99 – R550, and payment structures will be available for those who are eager to study but not financially able to afford a premium of R550.00.

Kind Regards
