Situated in the lush Riebeek Valley, only 1 hour from Cape Town, Shiraz Estate Guest House in Riebeek Kasteel can trace its heritage back to 1881 when the Laubscher family originally farmed tobacco on the Vlakfontein Estate. This homestead provided for spacious rooms, high ceilings, and everything else that was regarded as essential for comfortable living in those days. Time passed and a Shiraz vineyard was planted and some of the best wines in the country were produced.

The farmstead may have changed, but the Shiraz vineyards still grace fields alongside the Estate, and exceptional quality wines are still produced at nearby cellars. The Manor house has been restored to its former glory, with great care to preserve the massive Oregon pine ceiling beams, original windows and doors and the classic loft.
