The Jericho Water Level Meter assists in managing the amount of water in a specified container (dams and troughs) by sending text messages to a designated number, assisting users to keep track of water levels at multiple sites without the hassle of having to do physical site inspections.

The Jericho Water Level Meter is made up of three parts, namely the enclosure containing the electronic parts and the battery, the water level meter (there are five levels indicating what the status of the container is namely 0% -or rather empty-, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%) and finally the Solar Panel.

The electronic components are powered by a battery, which is charged by the solar panel. An option exists to connect the Jericho Water Level Meter directly to electricity connections on site thereby bypassing the need for solar power equipment and a battery.

The unit has GSM capabilities which enable SMS (Short Message Service) messages to be sent to and from this unit. The unit sends messages to the user when the water level is low (25%) and again when it is completely empty (0%) so that the recipient of the SMS is able to act on this information to prevent loss to equipment and livestock.

This meter system is highly customisable and adaptable to the measurements and specifications of existing dams and water troughs. By equipping a farm's water storage with The Jericho Water Level Meters, the initial investment is quickly recouped in savings of time, transport costs and loss of equipment (pumps) and livestock.
