Septimo Mandela Square

"Septimo" is Italian for "Seventh." Septimo represents more than just the place where friends and memories are made.

Septimo represents the seventh decade of a tradition of preparing family recipes and caring for everyone who takes a seat at our family table.

It began 70 years ago when a young Paul returned to Paris after having been a prisoner of war in Germany for nearly 8 years. Despite the effect of the war on his city, he wanted to rebuild his life and his city and began by opening a small bar and bistro in the 15th Arrondissment of Paris near the Citroën factory. His food and humour put smiles on the faces of the countless patrons who crossed his threshold everyday. He ran this bistro, and later one more in Paris, with his life-long sweetheart, Yvonne. Though the war had separated them, fate brought them back together after the war for many years.

Paul and Yvonne's daughter, Martine brought her family legacy with her to the United States, where she and her husband, Atanasio, owned and operated a family style Italian restaurant just North of Philadelphia.

Now their son, Paul, and his cousin Andreas, are continuing the tradition with the third installment, bringing 70 years of flavours, family, and fun right here to you in the world famous Nelson Mandela Square.
