We hope to keep you posted on all the latest and best activities that are happening in and around Cape Town, with a Portuguese flavour of course. Our aim is to cover all kinds of events ranging from sport, fashion, lifestyle and food.

The primary goal of Senhor Cabo is to try and unify the Portuguese community but in the same breath extending its arms to their South African family. Culture is very important to us and we take pride in our heritage. It is on this strong ideology that Senhor Cabo bases its foundation.

“Being born in South Africa to Portuguese immigrants and married to a South African, I wanted to maintain some Portuguese culture,” Dino Gomes, founder of Senhor Cabo.

South Africa has the largest concentration of Portuguese people outside of Portugal and because Portuguese culture and South African culture are so similar, there seemed to be a need for a Portuguese directory. Senhor Cabo wishes to be your one stop website in finding anything Portuguese related, whether it be food, business or events.

Through an events calendar which is continuously updated, you will be kept in the loop with regards to upcoming activities for you to participate in.

About Dino
Born in South Africa and of Portuguese descent, Dino Gomes has always had a strong sense of culture. Wanting to share his passion for his Portuguese roots, he has developed Senhor Cabo, a directory and platform to knit the Portuguese community closer together. However, the idea was not to keep the website Portuguese but also to welcome any South African who might have an interest in the Portuguese culture locally.

I am involved with various Portuguese organisations in Cape Town and felt that there was no real directory or platform, if you will, for people to find out about Portuguese places or events. I think that the Portuguese culture and South African culture are quite similar and so with Senhor Cabo I would like to mix the Portuguese flavour with that of Cape Town, Dino Gomes.

Senhor Cabo is just one of the ways Dino is giving back to not only the Portuguese community but that of Cape Town as well.
