Sea Dog Coffee

After a long day in the ocean. salty, sunburnt and thirsty i stumbled onto a drink that changed the way i look at coffee. It suited our African climate and active lifestyle. I had to get some! The image of this marbled liquid goodness was enough to stir my curiosity and lust for something natural and refreshing… cold brew coffee. We were by no means coffee conisuers, but always had that cup of joe before our morning charge. now there was a new mission, where could you get your paws on some cold brew? - you couldn’t!!!! This is where our love for cold brew coffee started. it’s been almost 2 years in the making now. After that first home brew was made in the kitchen (which was a fricken messy & delicious affair), we’ve come a long way. It was by chance that the Sea Dog crew got together after a surf and enjoyed a cold brew out the cooler in the car park. “everyone who digs their coffee should be sucking one of these!!” - can’t remember who said that, but that sparked the puzzle on getting it out there. Our main man mike is the key. he’s like a coffee bean whisperer!! He sources the most responsible beans he can and roasts them in the cool, calm midlands. It's in a place that looks like it’s fallen out of a post card (he’s probably in the hammock sipping in the view right now). The process allows us to preserve more of the beans natural goodness, releasing a buttery smooth rich flavour while keeping the acid content low, giving us a kick ass coffee concentrate with a caffeine content that is almost 3 times higher that your regular cuppa.
