Sani Valley Lodge

Gareth and Sam manage and run Sani Valley with their able team of experienced staff. They are committed to making everyone's experience a truly memorable one.

Sani Valley has remains true to its nature lodge roots from when the concept was developed over a decade ago. Its primary focus is on ecotourism and the conservation of nature in and around the lake on the Sani Valley reserve which extends to just over 1500 acres.

Gareth is a keen trout fisherman so much effort is also included in the development of Sani Valley's trout hatchery. Its produces between 30 000- 50 000 baby trout annually, all of which are released into the dams at 2 inches (fry stage). Many die, but the natural mortality of these fish produces true wild trophy trout leaving only the strong and wild for you to tackle. The dams are also stocked with larger fish which are bought in to ensure the dams are well stocked. We search far and wide for these fish to ensure we get a combination of all the stock fish in the area, this way we get the strongest fish, which we can ensure you fight way above there weight category.

Sam is a keen photographer and helps to document and market Sani Valley's beauty through images which can be seen across the website.

Sani Valley is able to issue hiking permits for Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife and also works with a number of local tour operator who take trips up the Sani Pass. Its adventure 4x4 trips, quad bikes, hiking in the surrounding moutains are also organised in collaboration with local partners from the Himevill and Underberg area.

For horse riding, fishing lessons, game drives, boating and spa treatments please ask at reception for all details and bookings, as these are arranged at Sani Valley.
