Positioned just above the Kubusi Valley and roughly 90km North from East London lies this well utilised and actively managed biome of nature & plant life. Combining farming to work in harmony with nature as one is all about getting the balance right.

The blessing of water is utmost in any ranching operation. Deep in the kloof (valley) lies a natural spring producing on average some 10 000 litres of crystal clear drinking water every day. The water source has it’s own solar pump which feeds the entire farm through a well-planned and constructed below surface water system. The lodge and guest accommodation is powered by solar, gas and an old farm style Lister generator is our back up.

100% PURE BEEF.
The ranch is home to 100 Bonsmara beef type cattle which fulfil an extremely important role with regards to quality grass regrowth and eradicating disease from ticks, to keep our ranch clean for all.

You will be pleased to see teaming herds of game in the open bushveld, just like it was in days gone by. Through a careful breeding and selection programme we continue to build our game herds the same way nature did. Culling and game breeding work hand in hand, due to the fact that large natural predators have been exterminated from farm land many years ago, we now have the responsibility to cull ourselves and this we embark on doing through Game sales, Trophy hunting and biltong hunting for old bulls and rams who have served their time as dominant breeding males within the herd and have now been forced out by the new generation.

We believe our guest suite accommodation is private, tasteful and comfortable. Each suite is fitted with a double bed, cupboards, own en-suite bathroom and a majestic landscape view of the Kubusi valley and surrounds. All meals, whether dining or braai are served at the Misty Valley lodge.
