Ons Huis is an old age home that has provided care for the aged since 1967.

Located in Florida, Ons Huis has the capacity to care for 144 senior citizens. They provide 24/7 care for their residents, with an emergency facility and 24 hour security services, including security cameras.

Residents get three meals a day, assistance with bathing, laundry and cleaning services and weekly visits from a medical practitioner.

There are several social activities including bingo, exercise sessions, Bible studies and church services, video screenings and reading circles.

Residents have access to a library, a tuck shop, hair-dressing salons and there is a municipal bus for trips to Westgate.

The main building can accommodate up to 73 residents in mostly single rooms. There are three blocks of flats with 22 bachelor flats and 8 single bedroom flats. There are also four single bedroom, semi-detached houses.

Ons Huis offers a “Day Care Centre for the Aged”. This is aimed at senior citizens who live alone or with their children, and who are bored/scared/at risk when staying at home during the day. This service includes; participation in all activities that Ons Huis offers, lunch and a nap, and bathing services as well as assistance of needed. It costs R100 a day.
