Real Youth South Africa

Introductioin
Real Youth Ministries is a subsidiary of Revival Centre Church which is one of the fastest growing ministries in the Southern part of Johannesburg. RYM serves as a wing to the church to reach out to the youth in our communities and bringing upliftment and empowerment to young people.

Background
RYM was established in Jan of 2003 being run by Mr. and Mrs. Minnegen. As part of the vision of the church is to reach young people, Deon later trained up several people to establish the ministry.

RYM has embraced the key “pillar” concepts that stems from the founder of Revival Centre Community Church. The church along with the youth wing is aligned and centers on these concepts: Prayer, Reaching out and making contact, empowering ourselves, re-investing in our communities.

In the southern part Johannesburg, communities and families are very fragmented and as a result young people look for alternative means to establish an identity at an early age.
Our communities may not have many players with sufficient financial muscle to drive these concepts, but RYM, although still a small player; envisage erecting a fully equipped youth centre with various recreational facilities that fosters a climate for moral, business and entrepreneurial development in young people

RYM are in partnership with the parents in the community which is one of the critical success factors in any youth ministry and seek to continuously build and grow meaningful relationships with parents. Thus bridging the gap between adults and teenagers and gaining the support from parents.
