Book Landing and Request Services

BNLS has a wide collection of books ranging from fiction and non fiction, educational, business, health, religious and all these are suited for all segments of the society. Users are allowed to take out library materials from the library for a period of 14 days. Users are allowed to put up a request with the library where the document is not available at the time of need. It is upon the library to find the document and communicate with the user. Users residing about 8 kilometres from the public library may use the post office to borrow library material. Loan period through the postal system is one month.

Homework Club
Are you having difficulties with assignments and worse still have no one to guide and assist at home? Your local library offers assistance with homework. Visit your local library and find out when your peers meet up with the librarian to discuss school work.

Computer Training
In an endeavour to bridge the digital divide normally exacerbated by the lack of access to computers and know how to use them, libraries now offer free access to as well as free computer training to all citizens. Contact your nearest library to find out the training dates.

Outreach Acitivities
In response to your needs, your library now embarks on a number of outreach activities. These differ from library to library depending on the local needs of communities. Outreach activities may include lifeline youth meetings, unemployment workshops and training sessions, health talks, book reading clubs, homework clubs, talk shows, English learning sessions.

Reprographic services

Photocopies of specific pages of publications and web pages are made for clients on request. Copyright regulations are adhered to when this service is provided.

Internet Access

Internet is available for public access in Ramotswa, Ghanzi, Thamaga, Lobatse, Kanye, Moshupa, Gaborone, Shoshong, Mochudi, Mahalapye, Palapye, Selibe Phikwe, Molalatau, Ramokgonami libraries. More libraries are to be connected. The public can access internet for free. Library staff is available at all times to assist the public.

Lifeline Youth Group Meetings

Lifeline group offers youth an opportunity to discuss health and life issues in an open and friendly environment. It also connects one with peers from diverse educational backgrounds to share ideas.
