Proclaim liberty to the captives

Hi I am evangelist Freek Vermaak and I am the richest man, that walks on this earth. Somebody once said that it doesn't matter how poor a man is, if he has a family he is rich. My wealth is my family. I am married to the most wonderful woman a man can ask for. Her name is Hannah. I'm also blessed to be the father of four sons and one daughter. We as family are very fortunate to stay in Oudtshoorn the ostrich capital of the world, in the Western Cape province in South Africa. I am also blessed to be the CEO and Founder of The Well School of Ministries.

I was brought up by both of my parents in some of the poorest suburbs on the West Rand of Gauteng, South Africa. My father was my hero and best friend while I was growing up. My father was a labor worker and didn't earn a large salary. I might have been one of the least privileged kids in school, but I was rich in love and care from my parents' side. From my early rugby days, I was seen by many as an upcoming Springbok rugby player. It never happened because of the bad choices that I have made in life. I joined the South African Police after school and has a lot of experience in the world of crime, gangsterism and drugs. I worked as a policeman in Johannesburg for a couple of years. Later, I went over to the other side of the law, when I got involved in organized crime myself. I was addicted to alcohol, cocaine and other drugs. Because of my addiction problem and criminal life, I ended up in a lot of trouble. I went down on my knees one night and called out to God for help. God's mercy rewrote my life. God turned my mess into a message. I'm so grateful towards the Lord Jesus Christ, for calling me full time into His service, almost sixteen years ago. The Lord anointed and qualified me to do the work of an evangelist. God first saved me by His mighty power and then called me into His holy work. It was not my doing, It was all His idea, a gift prepared for me in Christ Jesus long before I knew anything about it. Over the years, I have had the awesome privilege to go not only into prisons, to preach the Good News, but also at church, school, sporting, youth, men, police and corporate events.
