Principia Independent School

Principia is a dual medium, independent school that provide a progressive approach to primary education, presented by well qualified, experienced teachers in a loving, caring, secure environment. At the moment we cater for Grades RR - 7 and in 2015 we hope to progress to Grade 8. Currently Principia is being run by a dedicated Steering Committee consisting of parents, educators and professionals from within the school as well as from the broader community.
Principia offers an enriched and extended Western Cape Education Department curriculum making use of Jolly Phonics and Abacus Maths as well as addressing and enriching all aspects of the Life Skills programme. Computer technology, CAMI is included in the daily curriculum. We also have Gardening and Cooking classes which add an extra, enriching dimension to our Life Skills and Entrepreneurship curriculum. We value and integrate age appropriate sport development in our school programme. Every year we stage a musical giving all our little stars a chance to shine! We encourage children to question their environment and problem solve. We respect what each individual child brings to the classroom learning experience and the children's curiosity and input is valued. At Principia we believe in integrated whole brain education to develop every child's strengths.
