ABOUT PLUMSTEAD METHODIST CHURCH :

Plumstead Methodist church is steeped in history, having opened it’s doors in service to God and the community, for the first time in April 1907.

At Plumstead Methodist Church we serve our Father, each other and the community in various ways :

Plumstead Methodist Church offers 2 Services on Sundays. We welcome visitors! Why not give us a try?

08h00 Service:
This is a calm and more reflective Service. The hymns are usually more traditional and on at least three Sundays each month the Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated.

10h00 Service:
This is Family Time and all ages are welcome. New styles of music and worship are being explored. After shared opening worship, separate learning is provided for children and young people. Holy Communion is usually celebrated in this service on the 4th Sunday of each month.

OUR CHURCH LEADERSHIP
The Resident Minister is Rev. Ermal Kirby, who has come to us on transfer from the Methodist Church of Great Britain. He is also currently Circuit Superintendant for the Victoria Road Circuit.

In addition to his pastoral work in the past, Ermal has been a staff member of the Council of Churches of Britain and Ireland; a Tutor at a Theological College; and his most recent appointment before coming to South Africa was as Chair of the London Methodist District. He was born in Antigua, in the West Indies.

Reverend Ermal Kirby is supported in the church leadership by :
