Phsdsbc

The PHSDSBC (Public Health and Social Development Sectoral Bargaining Council) is a bargaining council, which was established in 1999, and services employees within the public health and social development sectors.

Vision
To be a leading bargaining council in the world.

To promote labour peace in the public health and social development sectors by:
a) Engaging in constructive collective bargaining around issues of mutual interest to all the parties to the PHSDSBC.
b) Facilitating of dispute prevention measures to pre-empt the occurrence of disputes in the sector and the resolution of all sector wide labour disputes speedily and to the satisfaction of all parties.

The PHSDSBC negotiates on mutual interest matters and carries out a range of dispute resolution and prevention functions.

The parties that engage in collective bargaining are:
• The Employer (State) - Department of Health and Department of Social Development
• Labour (Trade Unions) - The 5 trade unions admitted to the PHSDSBC: NEHAWU, DENOSA, PSA, HOSPERSA and NUPSAW
