More about Phoenix Dance Studio

Here at Phoenix Dance Studio, we aim to offer social dance instruction to the regular guy, at an affordable price and tailored to your needs, be it for social events, weddings, year end functions or the matric dance.
We offer Latin dances such as Merengue, Mambo, Cha-cha, Rumba and ballroom dances such as Foxtrot, Slow Waltz and the Tango and Viennese waltz.
Ballroom dancing
These dances were developed from old European folk dances such as Waltz and minuet, as well as dances from the 20th Century such as Foxtrot.
You will be taught to glide across any floor with control and beauty.
These dances include Foxtrot, Waltz and Tango.
Latin dancing
These dances originated from Latin America and are known for its sensual hip action and sexy flair. Movies about Latin dancing, ones that portray the beauty of the art of Latin dancing, seem to be favorites among dancers and non-dancers alike. Learning Latin dances is fairly easy, as most of the dances are made up of the same basic foot steps, such as Merengue, Mambo, Cha-Cha and Rumba.
Latin dancing will teach you balance and control and how to move all of your body in unison and in style, while having fun and feeling sexy with a all round work out.
Line dancing
Line dancing is a choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps in which a group of people dance in one or more lines or rows without regard for the gender of the individuals, all facing either each other or in the same direction, and executing the steps at the same time. Unlike in circle dancing, line dancers are not in physical contact with each other.
Line dancing is practiced and learned in country-western dance bars, social clubs, dance clubs and ballrooms. It is sometimes combined on dance programs with other forms of country-western dance, such as two-step, western promenade dances, and as well as western-style variants of the waltz, polka and swing. Line dances have accompanied many popular music styles since the early 1970s including pop, swing, rock and roll, disco, Latin , rhythm and blues and jazz.
