Overstrand Municipality

Overstrand Municipality is classified as a category B municipality situated within the Overberg and covers a surface of almost 1 708km2, with an estimated population of 90 000 people.

The area is divided into three administrations from where municipal services are delivered: Hangklip-Kleinmond, Greater Hermanus and Gansbaai/Stanford.
The municipal area of Overstrand Municipality has a coastline of approx. 230km, stretching from Rooi Els in the West to Quinn Point in the East – including the towns of Rooi Els, Pringle Bay, Betty’s Bay, Kleinmond, Greater Hermanus, Stanford, Baardskeerdersbos, Greater Gansbaai, Wolvengat, Pearly Beach and Buffeljagsbaai.
