History of Orissa Primary School.
The school opened on 25 July 1983 as Isipingo No. 7 under the Acting Principalship of Mr J. Ananth. It commenced with an enrolment of 190 pupils and 7 educators and 1 administration clerk.
NAMING OF THE SCHOOL
Parents and guardians of pupils attending this school were given the opportunity to submit appropriate names. Much enthusiasm was shown by parents, guardians and teachers who submitted several names.
After lengthy discussions at the Education Committee meetings, the following names were submitted to the Department for approval: Orissa, Orientwini, Citrusville, Riversands & Citrus Primary School. All five names were approved by the Department.
Subsequently, parents/guardians were circularised and were requested to vote.
